Country Church Pop-up

Thought I'd experiment with the Country Village Topper Kit and try making a pop-up card... I wasn't really sure what I was doing, so I hit a couple of snags, but it turned out ok after all!

The kit has 2 elements for each scene - here you can see the dimension this gives. I used Lavender, Christmas Green, and Ultrafine Sage Flower Soft to add dimension to the vines. The sentiment I used is from Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Co.The pop-up elements are created with strips of cardstock... the important thing is that they are all the same width, but the height of them can vary. A small one might be scored at .5", 1.5", 2", and 3" with a little overhang on one end to create a rectangle (2 sides are .5" long, and the other 2 are 1"...... the important thing to remember is that you are creating rectangles... so make sure your sides match up.).

Hope you'll give the Country Village kits a try!

The prize this week – Winners choice – 4 colors of Flower Soft!

Entries will be accepted for the challenge until Midnight CT on April 28th. The winner’s card will be featured on the Flower Soft blog on April 29th!

This is my project for this week’s challenge. I used a cello bag with a simple foldover top (yellow cardstock is Chamois Cascata Felt) . I cut the bottom edge with a big scallop border punch and added a line of Flower Soft Glue and Peony Pink Flower Soft along the scallop. I decorated with a cute bunny and sentiment from Easter Fun . These pre color images are so fun and easy to work with. Just cut out the pieces and layer with foam tape.

sweet Easter greets

Polar White Flower Soft not only adds texture, but blends into the color it covers - I used it here to fluff up this sweet little Easter cupcake from Impression Obsession - I sprinkled glitter over the Flower Soft area while the glue was still wet for a little extra sparkle. Here's a close-up on the focal image, which was watercolored using chalk inks.

Thanks for visiting today - come back tomorrow for a list of our challenge winners, and a new Sprinkle challenge!!

A Touch of Colour

to the Sepia Toppers, just make the POP!!!! I adore these sweet toppers, whether you leave them plain or dressed up, they look great!!!! This little fellow is from the Hearts and Flowers Sepia Toppers

In addition to colouring only the Tulip and the Stem, I added a touch of glitter to the edges of the Tulip and to the wee heart on the envelope on the main image. Designer Paper is from K&CO. I really like how it matches the Tulip image. Flower is from CTMH.

Have a wonderful week and I'll see you back here next Monday with a new idea!

Another square card.....

The current Sprinkle Challenge over at Flower Soft's Splitcoaststampers forum is to use Flower Soft on our square cards... here's a simple little square card I made using some stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I fluffed up Timothy's bouquet with a popped flower and some Lilac and Lemon Flower Soft. Isn't he sweet and Spring-y? :)
Are you ready for a blog hop tomorrow?!!

A square card and a bumble bee

The Flower Soft challenge for this week is to make a square card.   It was posted here on Wednesday, April 6th but here is a reminder.  Entries must be uploaded to the SCS gallery and use at least one Flower Soft product (Flower Soft, toppers, stamps) to be eligible to win. Please use the keyword FSC26 and flowersoft (one word) when uploading to the Splitcoast Gallery so we can find your project. You can see the challenge post HERE on Splitcoast.

This was an easy challenge for me since most of the cards I seem to create end up being square, usually 5 1/2".  I created a rather large daisy looking flower for my card using a 4-in-1 punch by Kreaxions.
I just had to put the finishing touches on my card with an adorable little bumble bee.  My bumble bee is a stamp by Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker and I knew this little cutie wasn't complete without some wonderful Ultra Fine Flower Soft wings.
Thanks for visiting, Linda Beeson, Design Team member

The prize this week – Winners choice – 4 colors of Flower Soft!

Entries will be accepted for the challenge until Midnight CT on April 14th. The winner’s card will be featured on the Flower Soft blog on March 15th!

Here is my challenge card:

I made the antenna for the butterfly with Flower Soft wires. I cut a 2″ piece of wire and bent it in half. I colored the wire with a black marker.

I added a little bit of  Flower Soft Glue to the tips of the wires and sprinkled Ultra Fine Ocean  onto the glue. I cut a small slit in a sponge and pushed it in to dry (it was ready in about 15 minutes).

Is it just me or does it look like a cute little bug is hiding in the sponge? :)

Supplies:

Stamps: Outlines Rubber Stamps (H-801 Sparkle Butterfly)
Cardstock: www.DiscountCardstock.com
Ink: Memento, Ranger Distress (Brushed Corduroy)
Other: Gold Pearl Pen, Copic markers, Crystals.

Have a great day!
